LASIK 2019 - Millennium Laser Eye Center
I started wearing glasses at the age of 10. My 3rd grade math teacher suspected I couldn’t see 20/20. I was failing all my exams. Writing down the wrong notes.
The Teacher finally had me stand in the back of the classroom and asked me to read what was on the chalkboard. I was squinting and still couldn’t read it. “ You need to get your eyes checked” – Mr. Hoffman. Sure enough, blind as a bat. Glasses must be worn at all times. Once I got into Middle School, I asked for contacts. I would wear my glasses at night.
From the age of 10 to 37, I was a slave to contacts. The frustration. They have to be taken out and cleaned daily. Replaced often. Expensive and time consuming.
I finally got fed up and decided to do Lasik surgery. I did my research and found Dr. Corey Lessner. Millennium Laser Eye Center.
Dr. Lessner came highly recommended by my Manager who also did Lasik a few years back. “He’s the best, you won’t regret it”.
I did a free consultation, and it was confirmed I was a candidate. Yay!
The cost was $5,000 (including both eyes) and I was approved through Care Credit. Interest free for 2 years and I did pay it off on time. Super easy. $200 a month.
There is a little prep work. No eye make-up/no contacts for a week. I wore my glasses for 7 days. It really wasn’t that bad. This is to get your cornea ready for surgery.
I was given 1 valium to calm my nerves. I was anxious but the valium helped a great deal. The nurses were very helpful. They provided warm blankets and made sure my eyes were numb.
A few extra eye drops before the laser and I was good to go. Each eye took about 30-40 seconds. You are awake but its extremely necessary. Dr. Lessner will guide you the whole way to make sure the laser is properly lined up with your cornea before the laser is turned on.
My friends and coworkers watched it live online. Dr. Lessner was nice enough to give my Friends a shout out lol.
Once it was all over, I sat up to look at the clock across the room. I was able to see 20/20 instantly. I started to cry. Tears of joy. What a miracle.
I spent years with terrible vision and now I can see that clock. Holy cow!
I spent the next few weeks taking good care of my eyes as my cornea healed. I listened and took the staffs advice very seriously. No gardening. No exercise.
I showered carefully. I avoided any type of dust or debris in the air. Napped when I felt the need to rest my eyes. Each day my vision became sharp and clear.
6 years later and I can still see 20/20. Totally worth it. If you’re thinking about it. Just go for a consultation. Take a leap.
Millennium Laser Eye Center will take care of you!
