Patience, Trust, and Acceptance – The Christian Viewpoint
Having patience is the hardest thing you will ever face in life. It will test your attitude and spiritual strength to the maximum level.
When it comes to life changing decisions, your home life, career moves, or simply waiting for a test result from the doctor. Having to wait the outcome can feel like torture. Did I make the right choice? Is this the right path for me? Should I keep praying and waiting?
Being a Christian is about Patience. Faith too. But Faith comes easy to me. I know my Lord can move mountains. But when will this happen and how will it unfold? Waiting for our Prayers to be answered can take months or even years. Sometimes those prayers may never get a response. And we don’t even know how much time we have left in the physical world to see the end result. We stress ourselves out waiting and waiting. We start to lose our Faith and Hope.
It can be hard to pray, keep the Faith and wait on the Lord all at the same time.
We have all been there before. “Lord, I have prayed and prayed, are you even listening to me?!?!?!”
We lose our patience on numerous occasions. Then the Lord suddenly drops a huge Blessing on us that we didn’t even see coming. His plan always was and shall be. Why can’t we hold on and trust all will be, okay? Because we’re Human. He made us to have free will of our thoughts and actions. We are not robots. But willing servants that make mistakes.
“There is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)
What goes along with Patience? Trust.
You can’t see it yet but trust the Lord will guide you there. And if his answer is No, please accept that as well.
Sometimes we push on certain situations that the Lord is trying to protect us from. We pray on something that he doesn’t want us to have for a reason. Maybe he wants something better and greater for you!
If the answer is no, the Lord will eventually reveal the reason to you. It could be that you lost your job. You are no longer friends with someone. You have to move out the state…etc. Whatever the reason, accept and trust the Lord. He will not abandon you in your time of need. He is there to protect and keep you safe. Even when things are rough, he is there listening.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5–6
“You are precious to me, and I have given you a special place of honor. I love you. That's why I am willing to trade others, to give up whole nations, to save your life.” Isaiah 43:4 ERV
Look back and see what he has done for you so far. On your darkest days, list all the good in your life. Things you now understand that you couldn’t see at the time. You will be surprised how often He has Blessed you over the years. Sometimes we just have to wait and see. The power of the Lord is unstoppable. Don’t give up. What is meant to be will be.
