9/11 - WTC

So I was born in Brooklyn 1982. Born in Red Hook, then lived in Starrett City. My Mom used to work in Tower 2. She was pregnant with me during that time and She often took me to work as a kid during the Holidays. She worked for Bank of California and she was on the 14th floor. I do remember visiting the towers when I was little. They were so cool looking and massive.

My mom decided to move to FL in the summer of 1992. A month before Hurricane Andrew ripped through. Before the WTC 93 bombing and WAY before 9/11.

But I can't help but wonder what would have happened had my Mother decided to stay in NYC ? I know she would've been fine. All her ex co workers did make it out alive on 9/11. But I obsess with the thoughts of staying in NYC and ME working the at WTC. I mean, everyone wanted to work there. It's the Twin towers! It's Manhattan.

Knowing myself, I would have applied for a job. Doesn't mean that I would have been hired or I would have been there that tragic day. But I feel like a crazy person analyzing what WOULD have happened? I was 19 when 9/11 happened and I was working for United Health Care in Fort Lauderdale. When I saw the news, I had this intense feeling of sadness and relief. Thank goodness my Mom made us move. It’s such a tragic event and I still love NYC very much. I do visit from time to time and have been to the memorial. You you haven't seen it, please do. It feels good to pay your respects. https:\\www.911groundzero.com.

Does anyone else have a similar story? Did you live in NYC but wasn't there for 9/11?

It really messes with your head. I miss the Twin Towers and it still hurts after all these years. Some people out there say its time to move on. But I can't. America was brutally attacked. How can we forget?
